Mustafa is CTO in Turk Telekom Argela/Argela USA Inc., adjunct associate professor and founder & director of Koç University Incubation Center, and president of Misone LLC. Before, Mustafa was co-founder of WiChorus Inc., a Silicon Valley startup focusing on 4G LTE & WiMAX mobile broadband infrastructure and core gateways. The company was founded in 2005 and acquired in 2009 by Tellabs for $200M after following four up-rounds with tier-1 venture backing by Redpoint, Accel, Mayfield and Pinnacle Ventures. Previously, he was a member of National Semiconductor Labs and was named as National Semiconductor Fellow at UC Berkeley, where he co-founded the Distributed Sensing Lab, focusing on statistical sensor intelligence and vehicular communication.

Mustafa completed four programs from UC Berkeley: PhD and MS degrees in electrical engineering, MA degree from international studies and MOT program from HAAS Business School. He received his BS in electrical engineering as valedictorian from Orta Doğu Technical University. And, recently awarded Docent title from Turkish Higher Education Council. Doç. Dr. Ergen has more than 33 patent applications, many publications and authored two books: “Mobile Broadband – Including WiMAX and LTE” and “Multi-Carrier Digital Communications: Theory and Applications of OFDM.” published from Springer. He served on the board of trustees of TOBB University of Economics and Technology. Recently, he is elected as a board member for Türk Telekom to Networks European Union Technology Platform and member of 5G Public Private Association.
