A two day interactive Forum “Towards Mobile and Fixed Next Generation Network Services” was conducted in central Bangkok, Thailand on August 16-17, 2010.
A two day interactive Forum “Towards Mobile and Fixed Next Generation Network Services” was conducted in central Bangkok, Thailand on August 16-17, 2010. 120 delegates from operators, equipment vendors, integrators, application developers, and researchers attended this event organized by the Thai National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Chulalongkorn University. The event was performed under the patronage of Professor Prasit Prapinmongkolkarn, Ph.D., Chairman of the National Telecommunications Commission. Professor Thomas Magedanz helped in the program organization and performed an interactive full day seminar on the first day entitled: “Understanding the role and relationship of mobile and fixed NGN control platforms and emerging Service Delivery Platforms for seamless broadband multimedia service provision”. During the second day workshop local operators have presented their views on emerging NGN infrastructures in Thailand. A strategic cooperation between Technische Universität Berlin, Fraunhofer FOKUS, Chulalongkorn University, and NTC is planned for the future to help in the establishment of appropriate NGN testbed infrastructures for operators in Thailand.
