OpenEPC and FI-WARE

OpenEPC is part of the Future Internet Public Private Partnership flag platform project FI-WARE, uniting major European industrial actors. The goal of the FI-WARE project is to advance the global competitiveness of the EU economy by introducing an innovative infrastructure for cost-effective creation and delivery of services, providing high QoS and security guarantees. FI-WARE is designed to meet the demands of key market stakeholders across many different sectors, e.g., healthcare, telecommunications, and environmental services. The key deliverables of FI-WARE will be an open architecture and a reference implementation of a novel service infrastructure, building upon generic and reusable building blocks developed in earlier research projects.

As part of the Interface to the Networks work in FI-WARE, OpenEPC provides the LTE and heterogeneous access core network connectivity enabling the data connectivity for all the other generic enablers of the European Future Internet initiative as well as the support for the Future Internet use cases.
