Dr. Frank Schramm

Dr. Schramm recently joined the division Information & Communication Technology, Media and Creative Industries of Senate for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. There he works on issues of the Internet of Things and 5G-Mobil Communication.
He previously was an IT architect at Toll Collect GmbH where he was responsible for governance, consolidation and enhancement of the IT architecture of the company collecting about 4.5 Billion EUR road toll per year. This included system and interface design and specification.
He was the representative of SIEMENS in 3GPP CT1 standardization group with focus on packet switched core network. The gained knowledge served him well in designing core network node features and the guidance of the development team to implement them.
As researcher he took part in a project for post LTE architectures and evaluation of EU FP7 projects.
He designed from scratch a graphical planning and dimensioning tool for mobile core networks used by planners in 49 countries.
Dr. Schramm holds a Master in Information Engineering following studies at TU Dresden / IHS Mittweida and Strathclyde University in Glasgow.
