OMTP

OMTP is an operator-sponsored forum that serves the needs of each and every link in the mobile phone value chain by gathering and driving mobile terminal requirements. There are a total of 32 participants from all parts of the industry. These range from Operators to chipset manufacturers and from OEMs to Internet companies. The OMTP BONDI initiative is addressing the problem that an application written for one phone must be rewritten again and again if it is to work on all phones. OMTP seeks to remedy this problem by helping to address the way in which the existing web 2.0 environment is moved onto mobile devices. BONDI endorses existing web standards in W3C and builds new standard web interfaces and security that will enable new services and create user trust.
