Competence Center QUEST
The QUEST (Embedded Systems Quality Management) Competence Centre supports the development of safety-critical embedded systems that perform key functions in a variety of application areas, e.g. cars, rail vehicles, production facilities and aircraft. To meet the demands made on them, safety-critical systems must invariably function in a fault-tolerant and failsafe manner, even in unexpected situations – and often in real time. What is more, consisting as they do of numerous individual components, the overall systems are of a virtually unmanageable complexity. The systems’ modularity calls for a structured development process in which different engineers and research teams work together, taking into account the functionality of the final system. That’s why observing high standards of quality and conforming to sector-specific norms are essential in developing such systems.
The QUEST Competence Centre offers methods for developing and analyzing safety-critical systems, e.g. requirements analysis, process optimization, model-based development, model-based testing and verification. To make the quality assurance process as timely and abstract as possible, QUEST’s research focuses on methods to formalize and automate it.

ATAMI 2013 – Advances in Testing: Academia meets Industry
The fourth ATAMI-Workshop supports the exchange of knowledge about software testing between industry and research. This year the focus is on the testing of varied systems and the reuse of artifacts.
