    Technologies

Developed methods and conceptual work at MOTION go generally along with technological realisations. This could result in single tools or complete development and test environments. While on the one hand implementations may be Open Source software, selected developments and technologies on the other hand offer MOTION spin-off companies medium- to long-term market opportunities through commercial exploitation.

    Technologies (co-) developed by MOTION

    • The MOTION UTML Tool Chain
      • MOTION has developed a UTML tool chain to support the MDT process, following an MDE approach. For that purpose a UML-MOF meta-model has been defined for the language, based-on which a prototype tool set has been implemented.
    • The MiLEST Toolbox
      • At the early stage of new system functionalities development a model serves as a primary means for including the novelties, yet there is no code, no hardware, and thus no real reference signals for testing. In MiLEST FOKUS proposes a new method for the stimulation and evaluation of embedded hybrid systems behavior which breaks down requirements into characteristics of specific signal features.
    • The ModelBus (Open Source)
      • ModelBus is a model-driven tool integration framework which allows you to build a seamlessly integrated tool environment for your system engineering process.
    • TTCN-3
      • FOKUS is main contributor to TTCN-3 and is responsible for various elements of the language definition including part 1 (concepts and core language), part 5 (runtime interfaces) and part 6 (test control interfaces).
    • UTP
      • FOKUS is member of the UTP (UML Testing Profile) Consortium.
    • Assessment Studio
      • Assessment Studio is a universal tool for the automated inspection of documents, models and databases.
    • Metrino
      • Metrino is a tool for the generation and management of metrics for domain specific models.
