Assessment Studio is a scalable family of tools for the automated inspection of documents, models and database information that can be used across the whole development cycle. It enables companies to develop control mechanisms which monitor and document compliance with rules and processes. Assessment Studio automates your development processes in terms of ensuring compliance with standards, directives, conventions, best practices and levels of maturity through inspection, correction and evaluation. Just like the automatic spell-check function in text processing, for the very first time it gives you the opportunity to implement your own development guidelines and automatically check them in your tools. To enable this Fraunhofer FOKUS evolved an innovative manufacturer-independent technology with multi-tool capability which can inspect development guidelines semi or fully automatically based on XML. From requirement documents and behavior, simulation and software models right through to test specifications, standards-compliant quality assurance can be carried out – either across the whole process or localized to focus on a particular tool. The automated inspection of conventions is a powerful help when it comes to implementation of company directives.

The aim of development directives for documents, models, protocols and database information is to achieve en - hanced quality in the product development cycle. The creation of a joint basis for the use of requirements, Office, modeling, simulation and software tools can only be en - sured by the use of directives and conventions. The particular innovation of Assessment Studio is its multi-tool capability – just one single inspection tool for all your documents and data. Assessment Studio bases inspection on the open XML format in which your data is already cast – or into which Assessment Studio can automatically convert it. The special script languages of your tools can also be integrated. From requirements documents and behavior, simulation and software models right through to test specifications, standards-compliant quality assurance can be carried out across the whole process or localized using adapters (e.g. as tool-plugins) to focus on particular tools. The automated inspection of conventions is a powerful help when it comes to implementation of company directives.
