ITEA Exhibition Award 2011 October 2011 |
The DIAMONDS project convinced visitors at ITEA & ARTEMIS Co-summit 2011 in Helsinki. Out of 42 ITEA-projects, it won the ITEA Exhibition Award. This public's choice award annually honors the project team, which presents its aims and results in the most understandable and vivid way. |

Best Student Paper Award at PST 2011 July 2011 |
Johannes Viehmann receives the Best Student Paper Award of th 9. International Conference on Privacy, Security and Trust (PST). The awarded paper dealt with Secure communication with secret sharing in static computer networks with partition in mistrust parties. |

ITEA Exhibition Award 2009 November 2009 |
The ITEA2 project D-MINT on Deployment of Model-Based Technologies to Industrial Testing won the ITEA Exhibition Award 2009. FOKUS contributed to D-Mint as research Partner and coordinator of the German consortium. During the Final Project Review Meeting on 24.11.2009 in Espoo, Finland, the D-MINT project was rated 'Excellent'. |

Scientific Fellowship in the Program between Fraunhofer Institute and US-American Center of Excellence (PROF.x²) May 2009 |
Dr. Justyna Zander received a year Scientific Fellowship. PROF.x² targets at outstanding senior scientists, who usually should hold a PhD and have at least three years of significant working experience in their research field. Justyna successfully applied at Harvard University in Cambridge (Boston Area), MA, U.S.A. and there she became a fellow enrolled in the program along Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. She is working on Simulation-based Environmental Disaster Prediction Applying the Paradigm of Cyber-Physical Systems (sim-EDEN). |

Scholarship from the Singularity University May 2009 |
Dr. Justyna Zander is a recipient of a Scholarship from the Singularity University funded by NASA, Google, Inc, and Planet eVentures. This summer she attended the program at NASA Ames Research Park in Mountain View, CA, U.S.A. Justyna belongs to the team consisting of 9 students spanning 7 countries. The team took upon the ultimate challenge in the natural and man-made disasters developing intelligent communication and medical solutions for rapid disaster response. |

Innovation Competition “Network of Automotive Excellence 2007” September 2007 |
The ‘Automotive Software Engineering Group’ won an award at the ‘Würzburger Automobil Gipfel 2007’ for its use of Unified Modeling Language (UML), a software development standard, in the development of automotive software. For the first time UML tools have been coupled with highly specialized development environments for microcontroller programming with the aim of adaptively generating control device software, simulating it and then prototyping vehicular functions in trial runs with real control devices. |

ITEA Achievment Award 2005 October 2005 |
The ITEA project TT-Medal on Tests and Testing Methodologies with Advanced Languages with partners from Finnland, The Netherlands and Germany has been awarded the ITEA Achievement Award 2005. The German part is lead by FOKUS. |

Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker awarded with Alfried Krupp- Award July .2004 |
For her excellent work in teaching and research Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker was awarded with this year´s Alfried- Krupp- Award for young professors. The award is given to young professors in the working field of engineering and natural sciences by the Alfried-Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach foundation since 1986 and comes with price money of € 500.000. Since 2003 Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker holds the endowed chair at the institute of telecommunication systems at Technische Universität of Berlin in corporation with the Fraunhofer Institute. Her main working field is the testing and concepting of telecommunication systems. Besides she is the director of the competence centre for testing, interoperability and performance of the Fraunhofer –Institute for open communication systems, which regained, through her commitment, international recognition in the field of systematic model-based testing of reactive systems. Furthermore she is an active member of several boards - among others - the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI), the Object Management Group (OMG), the research group “Arbeitskreis Software- Qualität Franken” (ASQF) and the German Testing Board. Not only the quality of her work, her presence within the academic environment but also the person Ina Schieferdecker is now rewarded with this famous award for the promotion of rising generation of young scientists. The 37 year-old scientist received her degree of Mathematical Computer Engineering from Humbold- University in Berlin and earned her PhD from Technische Universität Berlin in 1994. |

ETV 2. prize for diploma thesis March 2004 |
Marion Schünemann received the ETV 2. prize for her diploma thesis "Remote Control Infrastructure for Distributed Measurement Components in IP Networks" from the Electrical Association Berlin-Brandenburg. The thesis has been developed in cooperation between Technical University Berlin and FOKUS. |

IFIP best paper award March 2004 |
Zhen Ru Dai received at TestCom 2004 - the 16th International Conference on Testing Communicating Systems - the IFIP best paper award for her paper on "From Design to Test with UML - Applied to a Roaming Algorithm for Bluetooth Devices" (together with Jens Grabowski and Helmut Neukirchen - University of Goettingen und Holger Pals - University of Luebeck). The paper describes a methodology on how to derive UML testing profile tests from UML system models and exemplifies it for a Bluetooth roaming application. |
