Modeling and Testing for System and Service Solutions

The competence centre MOTION develops processes, methods and tools that provide continuous development and quality control of software based systems and services ranging from drafts to tests and operation as well as certification and approval.

Using its integrated system and testing development MOTION is able to constructively compile system quality, continuously verify and ultimately improve it. For its integrated, tool based development, simulation and testing the competence centre is using methodologies connected to infrastructures as well as to shared and adaptive system architectures.

Based on standardised methods and technologies MOTION develops solutions for the Future Internet, eHealth, Automotive, eGovernment and Smart Cities, supporting an effective and increasingly automated system engineering. MOTION is developing these domain, technology and process specific solutions for the support of an effective and increasingly automated system engineering based on MOF, UML, SysML, UTP, TTCN-3, MDA and Eclipse.

2nd International Open Data Dialog, November 18-19, 2013: Call for proposals out now

With this year’s motto “THINK OPEN, THINK BUSINESS” the Open Data Dialog, hosted by Fraunhofer FOKUS, emphasizes the high potential of open data for businesses and likes to challenge our view that open data is not only a matter for administration, but also for enterprises, NGOs and science. If you want to propose a presentation, a demonstration, a workshop or a tutorial, apply to the Call for Proposals until June 15, 2013.

Fraunhofer FOKUS at the IHE-Europe Connectathon 2013 in Istanbul

On behalf of ETSI, Fraunhofer FOKUS will be participating in the 13th IHE-Europe Connectathon 2013, held in Istanbul/Turkey, April 15 - 19. This annual European testing event for healthcare IT interoperability will bring together companies implementing specifications developed by IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) and provides them an opportunity to test their applications with systems from other vendors.

Eclipse IDD 2013 - Call for Presentations

Fraunhofer FOKUS will be hosting the 4th Eclipse Integrated Development Day (Eclipse IDD) on May 27, 2013 in Berlin. This year’s event focuses on aspects of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), such as collaboration of engineers, tool integration, models and processes as well as the coordination of various lifecycle activities.

ASQF Group meeting at Fraunhofer FOKUS: "Acceptance Test-Driven Development"

The last ASQF Group meeting at Fraunhofer FOKUS March 19, 2013 about Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) set a new attendance record with 70 participants. Speaker Dr. Mirko Seifert, CEO of DevBoost GmbH, introduced new concepts and tools for this kind of test development.

Introduction of the internet portal GovData at CeBIT 2013

In cooperation with the Department O of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, that is responsible for the administrative refurbishment and organization, Fraunhofer FOKUS has presented the internet data portal for Germany GovData (for now only available in German) within an exhibition tour of the Federal Minister of Interior Dr. Hans-Peter Friedrich on March 5, 2013 at the exhibition booth B50 of IBM at CeBIT 2013.

TTCN-3 standard, version 4.5.1 is now online

Final draft of the next TTCN-3 standard, version 4.5.1 is online and subject of membership voting. Prof. Ina Schieferdecker, Head of the Competence Centre "Modeling and Testing for System and Service Solutions - MOTION" at Fraunhofer FOKUS, has contributed to the draft and has been rapporteur of this document.

embedded world 2013: MOTION presents ModelBus and SPRINT

Researchers from the Fraunhofer Competence Center MOTION will exhibit a solution for tool integration in today's system development processes, named ModelBus and the innovative software platform for Integration of Engineering and Things (SPRINT) at the embedded world from February 26 – 28, 2013 in Nuremberg.
