New identity card: test and demonstration center at Fraunhofer FOKUS

Currently a test and demonstration center is being set up at Fraunhofer FOKUS in order to support the introduction phase of the German new identity card. The center will act as the main point of reference for information and documentation relating to the tests of the new ID card. Scenarios and applications will be presented to interested guests from public administration, business and press.

In addition to technical and organizational information about the new ID card, eGovernement and eBusiness, the demonstration center will provide information about technical components such as the ”Bürgerclient”, the eID-Server and selected pilot projects of the TOP 30-service providers. Thus, the center acts as an access provider to a comprehensive partner network of providers of administrative procedures, technologies and system integration as well as European and international partners and research institutions.
