eGovernment

Each person possesses various identities, dependent on the context. They recur in each person’s name and address,  in official documents, in both their private and business email addresses, in their status as an employee, member of a club or account holder, in their  pseudonyms in chat rooms or, where possible, when they anonymously surf the internet.

The more complex an identity is in the real world, the more difficult its representation becomes in the virtual world. Until now, registration, authentication and the use of identities in terms of administrative services could be seen as more isolated applications. The importance of the interplay between electronic processes and the various isolated applications related to identity is noticeably increasing.

Fraunhofer FOKUS has been a trusted partner of the public sector in Germany and beyond for many years. With our Secure eIdentity Lab we provide a broad platform for meeting the special needs of the public sector in the fields of identity and access management.
