eBusiness

It is increasingly possible to carry out business oriented services on the internet. At the same time the user must move about in the digital world, e.g. they must disclose specific information about themselves.

Until now, service providers wanted to gather as much data as possible from users. Yet because of the increase in phishing and identity theft, users are becoming noticeably more careful about who they will give their data to and how much data that might reveal their identity they are willing to give out. Encouraged by intensified legal requirements in the field of IT compliance, service providers are also trying to devise ways to delegate the administration, registration and safeguarding of identity related data to a trusted third party, the identity provider. The interplay between user, service provider and identity provider will play an important role in this process.

Fraunhofer FOKUS and its Secure eIdentity lab provides an outstanding platform from which to meet  challenges and set up test scenarios as well as examine and demonstrate various different role concepts and aspects of interoperability in business oriented identity and access management.
