As part of the Fraunhofer innovation cluster "Sichere Identitäten (Secure Identities)" and the Research project SI-KUZ (Sichere Identitäten für Kommunikationsszenarien der Zukunft) a new project "Secure Identities for Future Internet Scenarios" (SCIFIS) started in July 2009. SCIFIS' major objective is to develop methods, concepts and prototypes for identity management in Internet and Telecommunication scenarios. The goal is to develop and integrate a "Future Internet Identity Layer" into Next Generation Networks and Future Internet Scenarios to enable a secure identification and authentication with online services, foremost with the help of mobile communication devices.
Together with NGNI SCIFIS will build an Identity Enabler for the Open SOA Telco Playground that makes authentication of users, services and components possible.
First results are expected to be shown on the IMS Workshop at FOKUS in November 2009. SCIFIS is a cooperation of the chair Architektur der Vermittlungsknoten (AV) of the TU Berlin and the FOKUS competence centers ELAN and NGNI.
SI-KUZ is a joint project between the chairs Offene Kommunikationssysteme (OKS), Architektur der Vermittlungsknoten (AV) and Entwurf und Testen kommunikationsbasierter Systeme (ETS) of the TU Berlin and FOKUS.
