Paving the way for early prototyping in Service-Oriented Architectures on top of Next Generation (Mobile) Networks and Smart City infrastructures
The Open SOA Telco Playground is a pioneering reference testbed focusing on the provisioning of (tele-) communications service capabilities based on state-of-the-art Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. The main focus is on the provisioning of a generic service platform, communication and connectivity interfaces for various service verticals. The following figure provides an overview of the main working areas and provided software environments:

Open SOA Telco Playground position
This vendor- and provider-independent technology playground is an open testbed for service platforms on top of converging fixed and mobile broadband networks, IMS and Machine-Type Communication networks. The main focus lies in the research and development of new technologies, designs, and ideas for:
The Open SOA Telco Playground has been developed by the FOKUS Next Generation Network Infrastructures (NGNI) department. It is linked to the FOKUS FUSECO Playground. The following figure illustrates this testbed environment in more detail and its relation to the OpenEPC and OpenMTC environments:
