| The International Symposium on Quality Engineering for Embedded Systems (QEES 2008) as well as the 4th European Conference on Model-Driven Architectures (ECMDA 2008) in Berlin, Germany was successfully accomplished. This conference week was a big success with the largest number of attendees ever - with 200 participants from over 30 countries. All participants appreciated the high-quality program and the intense discussions. See you in Enschede, The Netherlands next summer at the 2009 European Conference on Model Driven Architecture. www.ecmda-fa.org |
Embedded systems (electronics and software) are of widespread use in safety-critical domains such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial automation and in business-critical domains such as communications and consumer electronics. Stringent quality requirements go together with the demand for low costs and low maintenance needs, but high safety and security levels, high dependability, high reliability and short time-to-market. This symposium will put the emphasis on quality engineering of these systems.
The best contributions will be selected for post-symposium publication in the Springer journal "Software Tools for Technology Transfer" (STTT, sttt.cs.uni-dortmund.de).
This International Symposium on Quality Engineering of Embeddded Systems is an affiliated event of the 4th European Conference on Model Driven Architectures (ECMDA2008, www.fokus.fraunhofer.de/go/ecmda2008).
It is supported by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Stiftung (www.krupp-stiftung.de) - a foundation that supports research in various areas of sciences and in particular in the field of quality engineering of embedded systems.
