Best Paper Award The award for the best paper was given to Hartmut Lackner, Jaroslav Svacina, Stephan Weißleder, Mirko Aigner, and Marina Kresse for their paper "Introducing Model-Based Testing in Industrial Context - An Experience Report". Congratulations! Proceedings To be provided. Thank You We thank all participants for the interesting presentations and discussions and hope to see you again next year. |
The objective of the workshop is to bring together industry and academy by providing a platform for interchange, discussion and collaboration. Industrial papers should either describe challenges of system or software testing that could be addressed by model-based testing or present their approach to apply model-based testing in practice. Research papers are expected to present promising ideas or possible solutions in the field of model-based testing that have the potential to be utilized in industrial testing scenarios. Submitted papers should cover at least one of the following topics:
Handling software complexity that is caused by increasing functionality and accessibility of software and electronic components is the main challenge in today’s software development and thus leads to an ever-growing demand for methods and techniques to ensure software quality. At the same time software development cycles are shorten to respond the customers demand and market needs for fast and flexible adaption to new solutions. In order to remain competitive under these circumstances an early and continuous consideration and assurance of system quality becomes an asset of ever-increasing importance in industrial software development.
While the software industry starts to adopt model-based techniques for there software development, it must further be clarified, that model-based approaches are not only able to provide effective development methods but also applicable for quality assurance in order to help evaluating and managing the coverage, costs, and risks related to the testing efforts. Both – the effectiveness and the efficiency of testing – can be handled by model-based approaches within integrated system and test development for software-intense systems.
The ECMFA seeks to foster industrialization of the model-based engineering (MBE) approach. Model-based testing is one part of MBE and strongly dependent on any kind of modelled information as provided by MDA. The workshop brings together practitioners and researchers to initiate a dialogue that is much needed for both sides to get promising research ideas that have the potential to answer many of today’s industrial challenges introduced into the industry and bring the feedback for more research activities. Therefore, the workshop perfectly supplements the ECMFA main conference.
The keynote will be given by Prof. Jesse H. Poore, University of Tennessee.
Title: to be announced
The best paper will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
