Smart solutions for cities, administration and entertainment Fraunhofer FOKUS at CeBIT 2013

Berlin/Germany, Feb 28, 2013 – Smart City Apps, eGovernment and entertainment solutions are this year’s exhibit highlights of Fraunhofer FOKUS at the CeBIT joint booth of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (Hall 9, stand E08). Further projects will be introduced at the stands of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology as well as IBM Germany.

embedded world 2013: Computers for space

When carrying out maneuvers in space, such as docking with a space station or landing on another planet, spacecraft must operate with extreme accuracy. In order to do this, sensors capture a flood of data that has to be processed in real time. To this end, researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS have developed an on-board computer for spacecraft. This system can be seen at embedded world 2013, which takes place in Nuremberg from the 26th to the 28th of February.

Like a real operator network: Testbed for future mobile broadband communication

Berlin/ Germany, December 5th, 2012 – With its OpenEPC software, Fraunhofer FOKUS provides a testbed toolkit that enables prototyping of seamless IP connectivity-related features like QoS (Quality of Service) and charging, mobility management, access control and security for 3GPP and non-3GPP wireless network technologies including 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE), 3G, 2G and WLAN.
