New Standard for Quality Assurance in Vehicle Software

Berlin, 19. October 2009 – Whether it’s about driving safety, telematics, or energy efficiency, drivers and passengers need reliable vehicle control systems for comfort and security. This is why experts at Fraunhofer FOKUS – the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems – and their partners are working to optimize the software behind those systems. More recently, one of their latest achievements the new software standard called “Testing and Test Control Notation embedded,” or “TTCN-3 embedded” has been presented in Berlin. It is especially designed to support the automobile industry’s testing of safety systems, helping them ensure reliable, efficient, and cost-effective quality assurance of software components.
