Cross-Platform Entertainment: Three Devices, One Application
Berlin, September 2009 - Not too long from now, the same applications for entertainment and communication will operate on different media platforms. Fraunhofer FOKUS is currently developing the necessary technologies to enable cross-platform use of interactive services on TV, PC, and mobile phone.

At the IFA 2009 in Berlin, the world’s largest trade fair for consumer electronics, researchers from Fraunhofer FOKUS give the public its first glimpse of how these technologies can be used in cross-platform applications: they show how Web-based IPTVs can integrate TV and Internet services on a variety of devices; they use “Web over 3 screens” technology to connect television, PC, and mobile phone; and they demonstrate how applications can be tailored individually with the SMART Recommendations Engine.
