Berthold Butscher has been appointed to the chair of honour of the special interest group “Communications and Distributed Systems” of the German “Gesellschaft fuer Informatik” (Computer Science Society).

Berthold Butscher, deputy director at Fraunhofer FOKUS, has been appointed to the chair of honour of the special interest group “Communications and Distributed Systems” of the German “Gesellschaft fuer Informatik” (Computer Science Society). During his longtime leadership activity in this board that counts about 1,000 members, he enhanced the work of this group decisively. The “Gesellschaft für Informatik” with its over 24,000 members supports the professional activity of computer scientists in Germany. The society publishes scientific publications and supports the government in the area of legislation as well as research and technology politics.
