VERSANT and Fraunhofer FOKUS present white paper on IPTV

Increasingly, rapidly growing numbers of users want to simultaneously access the same TV programs and channels via Interne t. For this IPTV operators need technology infrastructures that can provide fast, robust and agile management of core IPTV systems. The extensive lab benchmarking, conducted by Fraunhofer FOKUS and U.S. based Versant Corporation, has found that using object databases to manage IPTV delivers performance that is up to eight times faster than traditional means. The full results of the benchmarking study are published in the white paper “Benchmarking the Versant Object Database and MySQL with the FOKUS Open IPTV Ecosystem”.
