FOKUS Releases Cloud Computing Study for Public Administration

Government offices see a bright future in Cloud Computing, concludes the ISPRAT study “Cooperatives eGovernment – Cloud Computing for Public Administration.” The joint study conducted by Fraunhofer FOKUS and the Hertie School of Governance was introduced in Berlin on 29 November. It shows that virtualisation, that is, a governmental migration from internal to external servers offers significant potential for cost savings. Despite some concerns about security, the public sector is showing great interest in this new technology.  “There is even good reason to believe that Cloud based systems can offer even more secure solutions that traditional systems.” says co-author Linda Strick.
