Connecting the Unconnected: Technologies for Communication Networks in Africa

In developing countries, Internet access offers opportunities for progress in the areas of education, healthcare, business and government. Fraunhofer FOKUS will introduce communication infrastructures and applications tailor made for the needs of regions lacking adequate infrastructure at AfriComm in Cape Town from 25 to 26 November 2010. With the high performance, robust mesh networks which consists of solar powered routers, large land areas can be cost-effectively brought online.
