V2X Simulation Runtime Infrastructure VSimRTI: A vision of the future on the streets of Germany

Simulation and evaluation play a critical role in the process of developing intelligent transportation systems and these systems’ impact on traffic. On 9 September 2010 Fraunhofer FOKUS presented the V2X Simulation Runtime Infrastructure VSimRTI. This software allows developers to track the impact of other driving assistance systems, environmental factors such as fog and black ice, communication processes from vehicle to environment (V2X communication) and to the road traffic as well as simulate the transportation infrastructure.
