Competitive athletes are measuring their heart rate to control training sessions. The researchers at Fraunhofer FOKUS are developing the BlueHeart-Adapter. The system expands the standard chest strap and sends data via a bluetooth module to a receptor – for example a smartphone. Designing this technology, the scientist aiming to provide a cheap alternative for smartphones on the market. This makes the adapter interesting for industry, home users and coaches. A test environment will be installed in summer this year.
