Mobile Services February 6th, 2008
The mission of Services for All is to support the success story of communication services as the ultimate means to ease inter-personal communication by creating, sharing and accessing community services and content using mobile devices.
To foster this objective the German partners of the Services for All ITEA project have created a proof-of-concept implementation of a service development platform that provides:
The vision of Services for All to create a world of user-centric services has become technically possible. Services are easy to create, share and use. You are invited to join the public testing and evaluation of the new mobile world at the Services for All TestFest!
Today, the term service is been used by many individuals in different context and mostly with a misguiding meaning. The partners of Services for All have managed to create a consistent definition for the term service to allow a common understanding of services.
Furthermore several tools have been implemented which allow to easily create and deploy personal, mobile and context-aware services. The Service Creation Workbench can be seen as an integrated service development environment (“Service IDE”), allowing Services to be created graphically. Applying the developed tools,
the mobile application “OpenKiez” has been created. It is a community application empowered by Web 2.0 services mash-up.
The TestFest will introduce the project, its vision and prototype applications. The audience is invited to evaluate the applications. The evaluation results will allow an outlook on the future success and acceptance of the Services for All platform.
