Integrating TV, internet and mobile phone for a richer multimedia experience.
March 31st, 2010; Eindhoven, Netherlands
On March 31st 2010, the "All-in-one-media event" inspired participants with international speakers from industry and academia, which presented their vision on integrating TV, internet and mobile phone for a richter multimedia experience. The demo market has shown the results of the iNEM4U project, where Fraunhofer FOKUS worked on for the last 3 years, in a technological way. The Event was very successful, to quote Ms. Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for Digital Agenda: “By bringing technologies and stakeholders together, working on a better future is possible.”
iNEM4U was a research project carried out by a European consortium of companies and institutions, co-funded by the European Commission. Its goal was to develop an open and intelligent service platform that enables groups of people, such as families and friends, to share media and services in an easy and integrated way. The iNEM4U platform facilitates such experiences by allowing applications to easily combine media and services from different networks, such as the Internet, IPTV networks, and mobile networks. The unique feature of the iNEM4U platform is the integration of different technical domains and devices, creating a richer experience, based on extra services or content delivery by the user.
As one of the partners of the INEM4u project Fraunhofer FOKUS was attending the final meeting of this project on Wednesday the 31.03.2010 at Philips (High Tech Campus /Eindhoven). To end the project in a good manner, an important part of the meeting was to present some of the results of this European co-funded project, to a wider audience. In this way six demos have been presented beside some inspiring talks of guest speakers to the approximately 100 people.
With this final meeting the INEM4u project is successfully finished now and will be presented in Brussels in front of the European commission on Thuesday the 27.04.2010.
