Closed source and open source are often seen as incompatible and competing approaches. Fraunhofer Fokus follows a different view. By integrating both worlds and using the advantages of open source as well as closed source even more value could be added. The FOKUS QualiPSo Consulting Services helps to bridge the gap between open source and closed source products. A main contribution will be the demonstration of interoperability between different open source as well as open source and closed source implementations.

Being also closely related to the Fokus eGovernment-Lab, the FOKUS QualiPSo Consulting Services delivers OSS and combined solutions ready to meet the special needs of governmental applications. Fokus QualiPSo Consulting Services  offers the integration of OSS components into existing closed source infrastructures (proof of interoperability), migration from closed source to open source infrastructures, proof of concepts for setting up closed and/or open source infrastructures, show cases and compliance with the QualiPSo Label.

System integrators will receive help with interoperability issues concerning OSS products as well as their combination with closed source products.

Experts can participate by working for Fokus QualiPSo Consulting Services or hire Fokus QualiPSo Consulting Services to help with knowledge gaps.
