FOKUS Competence Center

Partner Program

Welcome to the Fraunhofer FOKUS partner web page

With its Interoperability Labs and more than 70 partners from industry, business and government, the Competence Center has been providing a platform which simultaneously serves as workshop, display window and expertise hub for future oriented eGovernment in Germany and Europe since the end of 2004.

ELAN has created Interoperability labs for different research areas in in order to support the dialogue between the relevant actors in light of the inherent complexity of the subject: “Interoperability”. In a pre-competetive environment, partners can develop complex test scenarios in the labs and compare their solutions with other researches and check their interaction. Conversly, representatives of the public sector can learn about of the public sector can learn about new products and test solutions on cooperation with FOKUS´ own experts.

As a technology-, manufacturer- and product-independent platform, the labs offer the basic concepts, technologies and products, which are necessary for the modernization of governmental administration.

Partnerprogramm

Our partnership in the Interoperability labs enables cooperative development and integration of innovative concepts, applications and best-practice-solutions. To be a partner in the Interoperability Labs means:

  • Access to cutting edge technologies, applications and know how
  • Contact to developers, competitors, politicians, opinion formers, potential partners and future clients
  • Value-added know how transfer between the laboratory partners
  • Joint external communication
  • Calculation and application of synergy effects
  • Cost saving by sharing resources
  • Actively shaping eGovernment in Germany on boards and panels

Partners in the FOKUS eGovernment lab are committed to eGovernment and open to joint strategies. Yet the grand scheme of “eGovernment in Germany and Europe” can only be realised if technologies and products are based on open standards and if solutions from different providers work together using open interfaces in such a way so as to ensure media mismatch free and cross organisation eGovernment infrastructures.

One of the main aspects of our partner program is open communication. In contrast to competitive behavior in market settings the lab-partners pursue joint goals, as process integration or interoperability of different applicatons. Our partners have the opportunity to take a stand in strategic-politcal discussions in order to jointly take part in the active creation of a framework for eGovernment in Germany.
