eID & ePassport Conference is coming to Berlin

As an official partner of this year’s National eID & ePassport Conference, Fraunhofer Innovationcluster „Next Generation ID“ is calling the international masterminds in the field of digital identities to meet in Berlin. For two days the experts from Europe, USA, Asia, Africa and the Middle East will work out the current State of the Art of the world’s eID infrastructure.

New paths for ID-Technologies open up in Berlin-Brandenburg

Sustainable innovations can only be successful when science and industry are well intermeshed. Prof. Radu Popescu-Zeletin, head of Fraunhofer FOKUS, und Ulrich Hamann, CEO of Bundesdruckerei GmbH, are getting future ID technologies off the ground with the innovationcluster “Next Generation ID”. In this latest interview Germany’s two leading experts in the field of ID technologies explain why such close cooperation is crucial in order to realize visionary concepts and how the cluster shall stimulate the capital region.

Innovationcluster „Next Generation ID“ successfully launched at CeBIT

Kick-Off for the Fraunhofer Innovationcluster „Next Generation ID“: at CeBIT 2013 the representative head of Fraunhofer FOKUS, Gerd Schürmann, and CEO of Bundesdruckerei Ulrich Hamann presented how „Next Generation ID“ uses Berlin-Brandenburgs bundle of competencies in science, economy and administration in order to develop ID technologies of the next generation for the next generation of our society.

The Handelsblatt business economists - ranking is published for the second time since 2009 and awards, among other things, the 250 best business economists in the german-speaking area for their work of life. The ranking is based on an analysis of publications in renowned scientific and mostly international journals.

Contest: New ideas for eID

Since 2010 the foundation stone for secure identities in the virtual world was laid by launching the new German Identity Card. There are various possibilities in the field of eCommerce, eGovernment and many other online-services – but still they are unexploited. That is why the Bundesdruckerei and its partners Ageto and Procilion initiated the “eIDEE – contest for a digital handshake“ that started with a panel on the topic “trustworthy identities and processes in the web”. Jens Fromm, head of the competence center “Secure Identity” at Fraunhofer FOKUS moderated the panel.

Opening of Cyber Security Demonstration Center

Fraunhofer FOKUS and CSC open in Berlin in collaboration with HP, EMC / RSA, McAfee and Sourcefire the first Cyber Security Demonstration Center. The partners test in simulated attack scenarios how cyber attacks can be prevented. Fraunhofer FOKUS offers a complex IT infrastructure to ensure a holistic and integrated approach and to provide a versatile testbed.
