In-Car Service Platform

Based on recurring requirements of partners and customers in regard to an integrated hard- and software platform for car-to-x-communication based applications, Fraunhofer FOKUS has developed and continually extends the In-Car Service Platform within this project.

The platform serves as a reference platform that allows car-to-x-communication based applications or individual software components to be developed modularly and tested within the car. With help of this framework, the applications are provided with all essential car-to-x functionalities so that the development can focus completely on the service itself.

The Fraunhofer FOKUS in-car service platform allows clients to develop and test individual modules of car-to-x-based applications systematically. The reference platform provides an easy-to-use environment for module and application development. It makes continuous testing, including demonstration on an onboard HMI device in a series vehicle possible.

Fraunhofer FOKUS continuously maintains and extends the In-Car Service Platform by deploying new applications and software versions respecting results from relevant research projects and standardization bodies. Customers and partners make use of the platform for integrated demonstrations within our research vehicle.

An exemplary demonstration performed with help of the In-Car Service Platform has been an identity management solution in the context of the new identity card in Germany.
