Abstract

Enabling 5G Verticals in Germany – Introducing the BNetzA “Austauschplattform 5G-Standardisierung”

Due to the great social and economic significance of 5G, the German Government adopted a 5G strategy for Germany in July 2017. One of the numerous action points is to support the 5G user industries (e.g. Industry 4.0, Automotive Industry, Broadband Media, Agriculture, eHealth) with their specific requirements, ideas and solutions in the 5G standardization process in 3GPP. This presentation provides inter alia the aims and focus areas of the new AP5G (5G-Exchange Platform) on standardization needs from the perspective of the German verticals. In particular AP5G was set up to enable the necessary coordination to be taken for the preparation of forthcoming 3GPP meetings.
