Rajarshi Sanyal is a telecommunication network architect at BICS (Belgacom International Carrier Services) based in Brussels, Belgium. He is one of those leading innovation and architectural initiatives in the domain of 5G, IoT, VoLTE, to name a few. He obtained Ph.D. from Aalborg University, Denmark on future mobile networks. He has 5 patents and 28 research publications (IEEE, World Congress, EU/US journals) in the field of telecom.

Roaming and interworking are the keys to the success of any new mobile technology. And it will not be different in 5G. As 5G is closer to internet based technologies especially in the core network, mobile operators often wonder if Interconnect carriers have a role to play to facilitate communication services in the international landscape.
